I advise on all aspects on family law family law including private children, divorce and financial remedies. I work directly with my clients and you will deal with me throughout.

How I work

• I will confirm at the outset whether I can act for you and what the scope of my work will be.

• I will set out fees and the agreed service in writing before I start work (unless we agree urgent limited work first).

• If your matter requires counsel, experts, interpreters, or other third parties, I will discuss options and likely costs with you before incurring them.

What I do not do

I do not provide legal aid and I do not operate as a law firm. I practise as a freelance solicitor in my own name.

Fees

My fees depend on what you need and how urgent and complex the work is. I charge in one of the following ways:

Fixed fees

Where appropriate, I offer fixed fees for clearly defined work.

Hourly rates

For work that cannot sensibly be fixed fee, I may charge on an hourly rate basis of £250 per hour

What you will always get before I start

• A written scope of work

• A clear fee estimate or fixed fee

• Confirmation of likely disbursements (for example court fees, barrister’s fees, expert fees)

VAT

VAT is currently not payable on my fees. If VAT applies, it will be added at the prevailing rate.

Disbursements

Disbursements are payments to third parties, for example:

• Court fees

• Counsel’s fees

• Process servers

• Experts (medical, valuation, etc)
